I think I've always been a guy to take stuff apart to figure out how it works. So becoming involved in the automotive repair profession has simply been an extension of who I am. I am not entirely sure how I came to be enamored with the Volkswagen product but it happened a while back. I guess we always had one in the family and we somehow understood one another.
After spending several semesters in high school auto shop (much to the chagrin of my business-minded father), I decided to venture into the world of professional automotive service and repair. I figured out early on that knowledge is power and this axiom applied to auto repair like white on rice so I got some formal training and went to work at the first VW dealership that would have me. That was 1983 and barring a few detours I have been with VW ever since.
