When I moved to Portland in 1995, I had to find a new doctor, a new dentist and a new VW mechanic. I've been through seven or eight doctors and dentists but consider myself extremely lucky to have found you soon after I arrived.
After 12 years and two VW's (you advised me on my second purchase and assisted the buyer of my first), your team has kept me safe on the road and saved me money.
With the first VW, at a time when I was struggling financially and couldn't afford a new fuel pump, you came up with what you called a 'temporary fix' and even though you said you couldn't guarantee it, your fix didn't fail throughout the life of the second buyer's ownership.
When I was obligated to use a dealership on the current VW because of a warranty requirement, the dealer tried to persuade me to make several other repairs which you said I didn't need. Eight years later, you're still right.
I have more examples of how great you guys are but suffice it to say, as someone who knows very little about auto mechanics, I'm vulnerable to disreputable practices and it really great to be able to trust.
Volkswagen needs to know that because of the excellent companies like yours, I am still driving their cars, so I am sending a copy of this letter to their corporate headquarters.

I just wanted to thank you for the perfect job you did on my classic van. Keeping vehicles this original and dependable through the use of correct quality parts and experienced technicians is hard to do these days. If I am very particular and pay close attention to detail. It just went beyond repair and into the restoration stage and was done to very high standard. Your staff exceeded my expectations and I hope you will convey my appreciation to those who seldom get the proper thanks for what they do.

Alex (car) is driving so smoothly that I almost did not recognize him this morning. The handling on a corner just glided and the engine is running like it used to in the old days.
